LIVING PROOF - FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILM (World Premier TIFF 2017) - score by william baird

LIVING PROOF is a dynamic, fast-paced feature-length documentary that examines the crippling politics of multiple sclerosis. Diagnosed with the disease, filmmaker Matt Embry embarks on a journey to meet top MS experts to find hope for treatment. From Italy to Iowa, he encounters a network of other MS sufferers who ignore neurologists, share their own information and question if Big Pharma, academia, government and multiple sclerosis charities are keeping MS patients from accessing alternative treatments for the sake of profit.

LIVING PROOF stylistically blends first-person investigative filmmaking, science, and a compelling, heartfelt story of a father and son’s fight to distill the truth and save lives.

Inspired by a story of courage, a young woman and her legendary marathon mentor train in secret for the Marathon of Afghanistan, only to uncover that for the runners, this marathon is much more than just a race.

I am honoured to have been chosen as the composer for this future documentary feature, and to work with Director's Scott Townend and Kate McKenzie. This film is currently in Post Production.

John Sears, aka Mule, has been roaming the western United States with his three mules for thirty years, trying to find balance between the man‐made and the natural worlds. The aged man and his animals sleep outside every day, moving from place to place as they please. While many appreciate Mule’s nomadic lifestyle and applaud his courage, he’s not welcomed everywhere.

I am honoured to be working with Director John McDonald on the future documentary feature which is currently in post production.

time team - TV documentary FOR CHANNEL 4 UK

BAFTA award nominated, Channel 4 documentary series, 'Time Team'. This film tells the story of how a dedicated team of historians uncovered an ancient 'Crannog' on the banks of Loch Tay, Scotland.

Beneath the surface lie the remains of an Iron Age crannog or wooden house on stilts. Unusual structures such as this were built on lakes all over Scotland, but this is the first to be explored fully, over the course of an eight-week dive. The clean, peaty quality of the water means the artefacts uncovered are perfectly preserved, providing a remarkable insight into how these buildings were constructed and how the residents lived 2,600 years ago.

WINSTON's war - TV documentary FOR CHANNEL 4 UK

Max Hastings's two-part documentary, Winston's War (Channel 4), gave a fascinating sense of just how difficult the British High Command found joining Winston Churchill's walk with destiny. Churchill had tantrums and huffs.

This inside story of Churchill's WW2, exploring the ups and downs of his relationships with his key advisors, and the impact this had on the conduct of the war.
